The Foundation is delighted to sponsor the publication and launch of Marjorie Doggett’s Singapore, inviting audiences to step back in time and experience 1950s Singapore through the lens of pioneering photographer Marjorie Doggett.
Between 1954 and 1957, Doggett captured striking images and wrote detailed commentaries documenting the city’s architecture and urban landscape, creating a vivid time capsule of Singapore’s past.
The exhibition was inspired by the newly published photo book Marjorie Doggett’s Singapore, authored and curated by Mr Edward Stokes with the support of the Foundation. Many of the featured photographs had never been published before and were showcased at The Arts House from 14 November 2019 to 2 February 2020.
