Hong Kong, 26 February 2020…..The Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation (NTFCF) has donated 17,500 protective gowns / PPE; 20,000 N95 1860 respirators; 12,000 type IIR surgical masks with visor; 8,000 medical face shields; 1,000 medical eye shields; 1,000 safety goggles; 10,000 pocket-sized hand sanitisers and 5,000 tubes of Vitamin C supplements for Hospital Authority medical colleagues. This is the latest effort to support the community in combating the novel coronavirus situation, in the wake of donation of over 3,500,000 surgical masks to the HKSAR Government and NGOs as an immediate relief measure.
The first batch of approximately 4,000 protective gowns / PPE has been delivered to the Hospital Authority.
Additionally, the Foundation has ordered two fully automated mask making machines with a total production capacity of 200,000 masks per day to support the government’s efforts in producing masks and ensuring a sustainable supply going forward. The mask making machines are expected to arrive in Hong Kong in three weeks, they will be handed over to the HKSAR Government upon arrival.
