Sino Group (the ‘Group’) and the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation (‘NTFCF’) have always valued their connections with the community, collaborating with partners across sectors to offer warmth and support to those in need. During this Christmas season — a time dedicated to sharing love and kindness — the Group’s volunteer team visited various districts to extend festive greetings to underprivileged families and the elderly. In addition, the NTFCF presented donations to over 80 community organisations in recognition of their unwavering dedication to social services. The NTFCF also awarded the Ng Teng Fong Scholarship to 208 secondary school students from underprivileged backgrounds, hoping this encouragement will inspire them to pursue their aspirations and cultivate the seeds of hope within the community, so the spirit of Christmas can grow and thrive.
Since its establishment in 2010, the NTFCF has committed its resources to alleviating poverty and supporting vulnerable groups and social welfare causes through collaborations with community partners. Beneficiary organisations include small- and medium-sized social service groups that provide assistance in areas such as rehabilitation, mental wellness, child and youth development, and support for ethnic minorities, reflecting the NTFCF’s commitment to addressing the diverse needs of the community.
The Group remains dedicated to serving the community through its volunteer team, Sino Caring Friends. During the Christmas season, volunteers spread festive warmth by visiting the Precious Blood Children’s Village, local schools, and the transitional housing project, Wellness Lodge, where they distributed gift packs to underprivileged families, students, and people with disabilities. Some students chose to share their gifts with others in need, extending the spirit of kindness and generosity that lies at the heart of Christmas. The Group has also invited over 200 people with disabilities and underprivileged families to enjoy festive buffet lunches at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong and Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel, sharing joyful moments together. In addition, the Group continued its ‘Hearty Soup Delivery Programme,’ providing hot soup to over 700 elderly members across 5 districts to bring warming comfort in the winter months.
Ms Nikki Ng, Director of Philanthropy of Sino Group and Director of the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, said, ‘Over the years, it has been our sincere honour to learn and grow alongside many devoted community partners. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated social welfare organisations and religious groups that tirelessly serve our community, providing both professional expertise and heartfelt care to those in need. Their commitment fosters a spirit of compassion and mutual support. We humbly believe that true community care involves not only providing assistance but also encouraging personal growth and fostering long-term development.
The Ng Teng Fong Scholarship embodies this belief. We also feel truly encouraged to see so many young learners engage proactively and pursue their dreams with courage. Since 2015, the Ng Teng Fong Scholarship has recognised 1,357 students in Hong Kong, and it is our hope that each of them will continue to grow and contribute to society in their own meaningful ways, sharing the spirit of empowerment. Moving forward, the NTFCF remains committed to walking hand-in-hand with our partners as we strive together towards a more caring and inclusive community for all.’
