Sino Group (the ‘Group’) and the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation (‘NTFCF’) have collaborated with various community partners for years to serve the community and promote inclusivity. During this festive season, NTFCF announced donations to 100 community partners in Hong Kong to express gratitude for their unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Miss Charmaine Lee, JP, Director of Social Welfare, attended the donation ceremony and commended the organisations for their invaluable contributions, encouraging them to continue their dedication to community building.
Ms Nikki Ng, Director of Philanthropy of Sino Group and Director of the Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation, said, ‘I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all local organisations and religious groups for their tireless dedication to community services. I am also thankful for the HKSAR Government’s ongoing commitment to social welfare through collaborative efforts among the government, the business sector and the community. These partnerships enable us to engage in meaningful projects such as Community Living Rooms and Transitional Housing. As we move forward, we will continue to work alongside like-minded partners to support those in need, providing immediate relief while empowering individuals to enhance their skills and improve their opportunities for upward mobility. It is our wish to instil hope, dignity and respect, enabling the underprivileged to help themselves and, in turn, others in the future.’
The NTFCF was established in 2010 and is nearing its 15th anniversary. It has been steadfast in its commitment to alleviating poverty and supporting disadvantaged groups and social welfare causes through community partnerships. This year, donations were made to community partners that provide a diverse array of community services, including elderly and youth welfare, education, mental health, family support, arts and culture, and more.
In addition, the Group’s volunteer team, Sino Caring Friends, has been organising festive activities in collaboration with various community partners. These include the Barbecue Fun Day, Christmas gift distributions, and visits to the Sham Shui Po Community Living Room, Hung Hom Community Living Room and the Transitional Housing Wellness Lodge, bringing festive joy to around 800 underprivileged families and individuals with varying abilities. The Group has always encouraged its staff, business partners, and their families and friends to engage in volunteer activities. In the first three quarters of 2024, Sino Caring Friends contributed over 160,000 volunteer service hours, benefiting more than 100,000 less-resourced elderly people, children, and youths. The Group has also received several accolades, including the ‘Most Active Corporate Award’, ‘Top Ten Highest Volunteer Hours’ and ‘Excellence Gold Award’ at the ‘Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2024’.
